More top-class motor racing action visits the region again this forthcoming weekend, this time in the shape of the British Racing & Sports Car Club whose two-day race meeting is highlighted by the popular TCR UK series.
In what has been an exciting inaugural season, TCR UK makes its maiden visit to Croft Circuit for rounds 11 and 12 with it all to play for in the championship standings, especially as the North Yorkshire track is hosting the penultimate round of the series.
Huddersfield’s Daniel Lloyd has proved to be the man to beat in the series so far, tallying seven wins at the wheel of the West Coast Racing Volkswagen Golf. Returning to his home circuit, and scene of his maiden Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship win earlier this year, the West Yorkshireman will be keen to continue his ground-breaking season with more silverware.
Also set to be in the mix for victory will be championship protagonist and second placed Ollie Taylor, whilst Derek Palmer, Lewis Kent and another ex-BTCC driver Stewart Lines can't be counted out either. Swedish siblings Andreas and Jessica Backman are expected to go well but don’t count on reigning BTCC champion Ash Sutton repeating his double victory at the previous round at Oulton Park, but it just goes to demonstrate the prestige of the TCR UK series!
On top of the TCR UK action, the BRSCC race programme will also see thrills and spills from the Avon Tyres National Formula Ford 1600 Championship, Miltek Sport Volkswagen Racing Cup, Speed Group F1000 Championship, Kerax Hyperdrive ST-XR Challenge, BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Supercup and the DDMC Northern Sports & Saloon Car Championship.
Practice gets underway at 9.00 on Saturday and action starts at 12.00 noon on Sunday. Adult admission is just £14.00 per day in advance or £18.00 on the gate both days. A weekend ticket is £20 in advance or £30 on the gate. Accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted FREE on both days and there is also FREE car parking and FREE paddock access.
