CLASSIC RACING MOTORCYCLE CLUB ROLL BACK THE YEARS AT CROFT

Croft Circuit will once again echo to the sounds of yesteryear when the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club returns to the North Yorkshire circuit next weekend (30 September/1 October).

Fans can expect an epic two days of racing featuring solo and sidecar machines recreating action from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and mid-1990s.

Lining up on the grid will be a wide variety of classic UK marques including Manx Nortons, BSA Goldstars, Matchless G50s and Triumph Tridents. Also featuring will be the European manufacturers with Ducatis, Moto Guzzis and BMWs alongside early Japanese machines from Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Honda, giving spectators plenty of variety to watch.

The sidecars are well represented with the likes of BMW and Imp-powered engines as they will battle it out over the 2.1-mile circuit. As Croft revisits a golden era of racing there will be a packed programme with 26 races set to be held over the course of the weekend as well as on-track parades from the GP Legends, classic solo machines, and classic sidecars.

Sunday’s line-up of racing will also include the ACU Post Classic 1300 Championship, ACU Post Classic 750 Championship, ACU Classic 500 Championship and ACU Classic 350 Championship.

The North East and Yorkshire are well represented on the entry list.

Brotton’s Michael Titchmarsh will be on his 350cc Honda CB350K4, Whitby rider John Cliffe competes on both his Norton Manx 500 and Suzuki Harris F1 whilst Northallerton’s Graham Ashbridge will be riding his Suzuki GSX.

In the sidecars, Thirsk’s Tony Thirkell and Whitby passenger William Moralee team up on the MRE BMW with some competitors coming from as far away as the Netherlands to take part.

On track action gets underway at 9.30am on Saturday with practice with track activity from 12.00 noon on Sunday. Adult admission is just £16.00 on the gate on both days with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted FREE on both days. There is also FREE car parking and FREE paddock access.
