Croft Welcomes Return of BRSCC For Spring Race Weekend

Croft Circuit welcomes the return of clubman racing when the British Racing and Sports Car Club (BRSCC) makes its first visit of the season to the North Yorkshire track for its Spring Race Weekend next weekend (4/5 May).

The two-day meeting will see five of the Club’s championships in action featuring both sprint and endurance races and will include a wide range of cars including Ford Fiestas, BMWs and Minis entertain the crowds.

The Fun Cup Endurance Championship heads north following its season-opener at Oulton Park and drivers will battle it out with a one-hour sprint and a three-hour endurance race, both taking place on Saturday. MJ Tech took the top spot in round one but will face pressure from former champions Olympian and UVio, who clinched podium spots last time out.

The PBS Brakes SuperSport Endurance Cup will make its inaugural visit to Croft for round three of the season. The series will see a bumper grid of over 30 cars line-up with the likes of BMWs, Honda Civics, Minis and Mazda MX5s battling for the honours in a two-hour showdown on Sunday.

In the Nankang Tyre BMW Compact Cup, Joe Doble will be looking to build on his first pair of career wins last time out but will face stiff competition from defending champion Gareth Claydon and five-time champion Steven Dailly, who returns to the grid. The popular sprint series will be going head-to-head three times over the course of the weekend with one race on Saturday and two on Sunday.

The Vinyl Detail Fiesta ST150 Challenge will face a triple-header of racing over the weekend with two outings on Saturday and one on Sunday. Their season began at Brands Hatch with wins for Michael Blackburn and Sam Watkins, who will be looking to retain their form over the 2.1-mile circuit.

Four series will take to the track together and go wheel-to-wheel in a double-header on Sunday for the BRSCC Evolution Trophy. Meanwhile, a mix of cars will line up on the grid for round two with the BMW 1 Series Supercup, classic Volkswagen, Seat and Audi cars in the Ricci Concept Classic VW Cup championship, the Finsport Renault Cup for Clios and Megane models and the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Mk4 Trophy all lining-up on the grid alongside each other in two 15-minute races.

On track action starts at 9.30am on Saturday with qualifying and at midday on Sunday. Adult admission costs £16.50 in advance on both days with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted free on both days. There is also free car parking and free paddock access.

Meanwhile, with not long to go until Croft Circuit hosts the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship over the weekend of July 27/28, advance tickets are now available as well as a unique BTCC VIP Hospitality Experience where guests can enjoy exclusive access to Hanger 50 which includes admission and programme, fantastic catering and a meet and greet with the BTCC drivers for an unforgettable experience.
