LOCAL STARS SET FOR CROFT MOTOR SHOW

Excitement is mounting as the momentum gathers for the Croft Classic to Modern Motor Show with a host of additional attractions and local stars lined up for the event on Saturday 10 May 2025.

With a with a jam-packed schedule of motorsport, entertainment, and family fun already in place, organisers have been hard at work to make sure the event is unmissable for motoring enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike, as part of a celebration of everything automotive for the first time in the region for many years.

As well as the usual incredible car displays featuring hundreds of classic and modern vehicles, this year’s new show offers the chance to explore the Motorsport and Supercar Zones as well as interactive experiences for all ages, whilst meeting a number of local motorsport stars who will be in attendance.

Northallerton’s Dakar Rally hero Robbie Wallace will be present, complete with his 450cc KTM which propelled him around the 5,500-mile adventure earlier this year whilst Teesdale rallycross legend, ‘Mad Mark’ will be on hand as part of a rallycross display and offering adrenaline-fuelled passenger rides available to book on the day.

Stock car legend and three-times World Champion Frankie Wainman will be attending as part of the Barford Raceway Live Showcase which will see thrilling demonstrations featuring Mini F2 Stock Cars, Teen Two’s, Junior Bangers, Formula 2 and Formula 1 Heritage Stock Cars, Bangers, and Hot Rods.

Local race and rally organisers, Darlington & District Motor Club, are presenting a line-up of prized competition cars, whilst there will be a display of championship winning motorcycles, including Troy Bayliss’ GSE Ducati from 1999 on which he won the British Superbike title.

The British Motorsport Marshals Club (BMMC North East) will be on hand to answer any questions on how to become a motorsport marshal plus there’s live music and delicious food at Hangar 50 where visitors can relax and enjoy live performances by Hayley McKay and Dave Neil Crabtree.

Marvel at dream machines in the Supercar Showcase, featuring McLaren, Lamborghini, Porsche, and more, and enjoy the Family Fun Zone, which includes dodgems, a giant bouncy slide, and other attractions including teen driving experiences with qualified instructors, hot laps, auto tests, track parades, club and retail stands and much more.

Meanwhile, this weekend sees the 750 Motor Club kicks off the 2025 car race season at Croft with two days of racing for a variety of cars and championships over a mammoth 16 races.

With classes for Formula Vee 1300, Clio Sport Championship, F1000, Mazdas and Sports 1000, the racing will be fast and furious but there are two endurance races on the programme too, starting tomorrow (Saturday) with the Anglesey International Roadsports Series over 45-minutes, including a compulsory pitstop and optional driver switch.

Then on Sunday it will be the turn of the Club Enduro series to provide most of the action with an epic 150-minute race. With a grid line-up consisting of production sports and saloon cars and mandatory pit stops, the action should be intense.
